In honor of one of my heroes, Tom Scholes. Trying to figure out how to get into his head. I don't know how he does his art but I think I can put some of it together. There are pieces of this that feel like I got close. Better than yesterday's massacre.

What do you guys think?

Edit: I played with the values a little more I wanted a little heavier darks

This looks really nice! And yea I hear ya. John Liberto and Tom Scholes are just amazing at what they do. It's really hard to analyze what goes up in their heads without getting intimated too much.

Hey Jane, thanks very much! They are inspired not only by Schole's style (obviously) but by the Banyan trees all over florida. They look like gummy tar that has melted into the ground. :)
